Shining Star School

Shining Star helps children in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, take their first steps in education. We donate part of our profits to the Shining Star school in Nairobi, Kenya. The Shining Star school was founded by the two managing directors of Donsje. In 2012 the foundation was officially set up and started with educating 25 children in a church building. Since then, we built our own school and have grown to support 300 children.
The Shining Star school helps children prepare for their primary education. They are taught the basics of reading, writing and other essential skills in a safe and supportive learning environment. The school provides the students with all the tools to make a smooth transition into their primary education, which is then funded by the government. Children who have attended ECD schools are more likely to attend and succeed in primary school.

This year, with great support from our factories, Donsje designed new school outfits for all 300 Shining Star students!
